Round Three - First Win For The Orange One
Hugo Marrow, known as "The Orange One", took his first win in the Random 15 Championship, although he was rather fortuitous as the London Overground broke down, curtailing the others' efforts, as there were two DNFs.
A huge win for Hugo Marrow has put him right into the fight for the championship, just 20 points behind Peter Smyth. Taking out the London Overground section before it broke down, Marrow made the correct moves, as, although travelling with Rhys Benjamin for a long while, Marrow won out in the end.
Second place went to Peter Smyth, the current championship leader. He extended his lead in the championship after beating his nearest rivals, but still finished 22 minutes behind Marrow.
Third place went to the team of Andrew Baker & Nick Gardner, 51 minutes behind Marrow.
Joint fourth place went to Glen Bryant and Team Scrumpy Pie & Pasty Power: Kevin Brown and Damian "Nozza" Cook. Managing to get one solitary train into the overground madness, they lost acres of time.
Sixth place went to Martin "Tangy" Hazel. Hazel had a nightmare, missing trains out of Liverpool Street twice by a matter of seconds. Huge issues elsewhere severely curtailed his efforts.
Seventh place, the last finisher, went to Rhys Benjamin. Stunned to find Marrow had beaten him by one hour, Benjamin got lost through St. Pancras International, waited - twice - 9 minutes for an Overground train, and visited London Bridge twice, as well as a disastrous 8 minute wait at Walthamstow Central and a 7 minute wait at New Cross Gate.
