Well, I had a shocker. I obviously don't like twist rounds. I started off by going to Ladbroke Grove then went back towards St. John's Wood where, despite having a map of London, I forgot about Swiss Cottage to Chalk Farm. And instead, I doubled back to Baker Street and went across from Euston Square, ran to Euston (must do that run more often!) and up to Chalk Farm.
Coming back into the centre, I knocked off Caledonian Road and Finsbury Park with a double back to Highbury & Islington, a lovely train taking me down to Canada Water with Andrew Chilcraft! After meeting Rhys Jackson at Canada Water, he opened his envelope there, watched by us we dashed across for the double back, and opened ours at Southwark together!
I went for a London Bridge double back, Andrew ran from the Jubilee line to the Northern line at Waterloo and still ended on same train, although then the mistake: I didn't double back at Clapham North - I ran to Clapham High Street, and despite making a train, it waited for a long time at Clapham Junction (15 mins!), so I knew I was screwed from there, even after running West Brompton to West Kensington, I was weighing up both options, west and east as nothing was coming, so I waited 7 mins here.
Finally an eastbound came, so I had the chance to do a run that I hadn't tried before, a Bayswater to Royal Oak run which gave me my best ever Royal Oak connection: I ran into a waiting S stock twice in that day and left within 10 seconds. Wow, that beats my best there by over 2 mins!
The rest was easy with a run to Warren Street from Great Portland Street, and then switch at Euston for Hampstead!
